Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Dal (Lentils)

Wash toor dal (or chosen lentils) and soak for 10-15 minutes (optional, but helps cook faster).

In a pressure cooker, add dal, water, turmeric, salt, onion, tomato, and green chilies.

Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles (or until soft). If using a pan, cook for 25-30 minutes until mushy.

Step 2: Prepare the Tempering (Tadka)
